Life’s Grand Holding Your Hand

January 3, 2018 By Maple & Ink

We’ve had tons of fun with Christmas cards this holiday, but my favorite cards to make are Valentine’s Day cards! This new set is very adorable and I am having much fun utilizing it. Maybe I’m just done with winter and ready for bright, cheerful colors. This is the perfect set to get out of the winter funk. For this card, we are using a new stamp set release – Our Love.

For the background, Tim Holtz distress inks were blended to create the sunset effect. Worn lipstick and dried marigold are the colors used. (you can find the blender here and the inks here.)

The hillside border is from Lawnfawn stitched hillside. I absolutely love this die set, it has all you need to make a lot of different cards. Even though this hillside has a built in border I opted to add a scalloped border on top, You can find it here. The scalloped border on top adds more dimension, which is always a plus!

Our cute couple and sentiment are from Maple & Ink’s new release – Our Love.

The pinks are so very cheerful! I hope you have fun with our new set!

Better Latte Than Never

Better Latte Than Never

Better Latte Than Never

Happy Winter Blog Hop! I’ve been playing around with all the Black Friday dies I bought and whipped this Better Latte Than Never card up. If you haven’t joined in on the fun yet, check out our Coffee Lover’s Winter Blog Hop. There’s so many sponsors and lot’s of chances to win fun prizes!

One of the dies I bought was the Lawn Fawn Landscape die. I’m in love with it, so easy to make a card with just that set, everything you need for the hillside border and even little trees and a house. The Little Lady and sentiment are from the Espresso Yourself set which is on sale right now. The snowflakes are from the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflake die set.

After punching out the snowflakes, I used the Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder to make them glisten. I stuck the Little Lady between the hillsides to mimic deep snow. She may have to walk to school uphill in the snow both ways, but at least she has a nice warm cup of coffee!
