Long Tide, No Sea is here! I’m so excited to share it with you! It’s love with everything in this set, from the mermaid all the way down to the seaweed. What do you think?
Today, I wanted to show off a card using our new stamp set, here we go:
First, I used the Cascading Scallops stencil by My Favorite Things with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio.
Using any stencil is so much fun. If you haven’t played with one, give it a try! Seriously, revealing your pattern on the paper after blending ink is an awesome surprise.
Once I created the background, I added a border using a basic stitch die from Lawn Fawn, stamped the Long Tide, No Sea sentiment to the bottom and glued it down.
I next colored and cut out all the images. Let’s stick the mermaid and seaweed down using foam tape to give it some dimension. I used normal flat tape to tack down the rest.
To give the card even more pop, I created “bubbles” using Nuvo drops in Morning Dew. You can use any plastic type of material to let the drops dry on. I laminated a lamination sheet without anything in it to use for nuvo drops and water colour, as you can see by the blue in the photo. A plastic sheet protector works just fine as well. You’ll need to make the bubbles in advance to let them dry thoroughly, overnight should do.
I peeled the bubble effects off the clear plastic sheet and used Elmer’s to adhere them to the card.
A cute card for someone you miss dearly!
